Our prize fighter

On Wednesday, Lizzy was back under her sun lamp with her first pair of sunnies on because her bilirubin levels were elevated again. She really likes being on her back in this position.

For the very first time, she held my finger. She holds Simon's finger all of the time-- she's definitely going to be a daddy's girl-- but would never hold mine. My heart melted when she finally wrapped those little fingers around mine. Most of the time, she has her hands balled up in little fists like she's getting ready to step into the ring. She's our little fighter.

Her nurse yesterday, Carla, told me that she is a feisty girl, and I asked what they usually did that made her angry. Her answer? Everything. Whenever the try to move her, reposition one of her lines, change her diaper, you name it, she gets angry. I hope that feistiness will keep her fighting through anything that she encounters.
