Daddy's Little Girl

On Tuesday, Simon was able to kangaroo with Elizabeth for the first time. Although she had a bit of a hard time getting relaxed at first, she was fed while on Simon's chest, and then quickly relaxed & kept her oxygen concentration levels within normal range. What can I say? The girl likes to eat! For about 30-45 minutes, we got a break from the bells and whistles of her monitor so that Daddy & Elizabeth could relax together.

Simon was ultra relaxed in this picture. He was dozing off!

This is my favorite. She loved having Simon's hand on her head. I also love this picture because you can see that her eyebrows, eyelashes and hair is blonde. She's going to be a blonde like me!

Elizabeth had a great day on Thursday after receiving lasixs to clear the fluid away from her lungs. She was weaned off the ventilator a bit (down on both her breaths per minute and pressure) and as of this morning's blood gas, seems to be responding really well to the changes! Please continue to pray that we can get her off of this ventilator. The prayers are working!

That is such an amazing set of pictures!!! Loving the hand on the head...my babies liked us to stroke their heads and now at six and three will still fall asleep right where they are if stroke their heads! PRAYING AND PRAYING for this little one! We will specifically add getting off the ventilator!

I always loved getting babies out of their incubators so parents could have kangaroo care. The baby's relaxed as did the parents. Oxygen levels shot up on the baby and down on the ventilator and the smiles on parent's faces is priceless. Also breastmilk production shot up too. All in all a positive thing for everyone.
Glad you're all making progress and three cheers for the next cuddle time,

How lovely to see Daddy with Elizabeth. These are such sweet photos. I see her very like you since my sister said that. Her blonde hair will be so lovely. Dillon still is very blonde and I just love that.

The first thing I noticed in the last photo was her hair! She has so much of it already. What a special moment between Simon and Elizabeth.
