Hi there! Life has been a bit busy lately with a visit from Simon's mum, who is now called Grams, general travel back and forth to the hospital and a bit of stomach virus thrown in for good measure on me. I was completely out for the count on Sunday and Monday and missed seeing my girl terribly!
Just a bit of an update on Elizabeth at 31 weeks & 5 days (adjusted gestational age that is):
She now weighs 2 lb. 9 oz. and is filling out and starting to look like a normal baby. Not much longer until she is able to wear clothes and become accustomed to room temperature!
She is eating 21mL of breast milk 8 times per day and loves it! Eating is something she has never had a problem with. She get it from her momma.
As you can hear in the video, her cries are audible now and we are so relieved. For over a week after extubation, she wasn't making much noise and the doctors were concerned about paralysis of a vocal cord, but it seems like we may be out of the woods for this one now. Every time she cries, I am so relieved.
She had her first eye exam last week and we were so happy to find out that she had no signs of ROP. The doctor told me that it "couldn't look better."
That's about it for now. All good news this week! We are so blessed to have such a strong little girl. Thank you for your continued prayers and good thoughts!

I's so glad she is doing better. They always tell you the worst case scenario until you are out of the woods. So keep that in mind and just keep loving her.

Love hearing all of the good news Meghann!! Sounds like she is growing fast!!
What a blessing, Meghann! Your family is in my prayers. I'm sitting here in tears (at the office no less, lol!) after reading your story. We are 13.5 weeks after two miscarriages, three failed IUIs, and two failed IVFs. It feels like a miracle to get this far. Your daughter is a fighter and I pray she continues her wonderful growth and development!
Meghann its been so long since I've been by to your post and while I knew you were pregnant I didn't know that you had the baby (I am sorry!) I am extremely happy for you and the beautiful blessing that Elizabeth is!! I will be praying continually and just wanted to say to hang on to your joy!!
